Appetite Dance Productions is based at North East Newcastle and is led by Chinese born, creative Apple Yang, an innovative and imaginative performer choreographer who established the Company in 2007. Since its inception Appetite has quickly earned a reputation as a highly creative and inventive contemporary dance company.
As Artistic Director Apple Yang’s vision is to express and explore dance movement as a trans-global language. In the pursuit of this goal she creates powerful physical narratives that portray the exuberance and travails of life that underpin human relationships across the world.
Appetite’s work gives audiences with dance and movement that creatively and harmoniously combines eastern and western cultural references and influences; performances encourage participants and audiences to explore the links between the multi-dimensional nature of society and the rigid attitudes towards people categorised differently from themselves
